Description
A graphical representation that illustrates the distribution of data points over a specified period. This tool is especially prominent in the context of financial trading, where it is used within the Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) indicator. The histogram in an MACD indicator displays the difference between the MACD line (which represents the difference between two moving averages) and the signal line (a moving average of the MACD line itself).
This visual representation helps highlight the strength and momentum of a trend by showing how these two lines diverge or converge. Larger bars in the histogram indicate stronger trends, providing traders with insights into potential buying or selling opportunities based on the momentum of the market.
