Vantage Updated Fri, 2026 June 5 05:38

In AVGO stock news, Broadcom (Nasdaq: AVGO) did everything right on 3 June – record revenue, record margins, Q3 guidance above consensus – and dropped 12.59% anyway.[1] The Vantage AVGO CFD was priced at $418.91 as of 03:36 UTC on 5 June 2026. All prices from the Vantage AVGO CFD and TradingView as of 03:36 UTC on 5 June 2026 (GMT+8: 11:36). This is not financial advice.

Key Points

  • The AVGO share price fell from a pre-earnings high near $480 to a close of $418.91 on 4 June 2026 – a drop of 12.59% on the session. The RSI on the TradingView setup used for this analysis reads 48.08, below the signal line of 59.40, marking the sharpest momentum reversal visible on the daily chart.
  • Broadcom reported Q2 fiscal year 2026 revenue of $22.187 billion, up 48% year-on-year – broadly in line with the $22.27 billion Wall Street consensus. AI semiconductor revenue of $10.8 billion grew 143% year-on-year.[1]
  • The sell-off coincided with the absence of a raise to Broadcom’s fiscal year 2027 AI semiconductor revenue target of $100 billion. Q3 revenue guidance of $29.4 billion was above consensus, and the 46-analyst consensus AVGO price target remains $497.74 – above current levels.[2][3]

AVGO Stock Price Chart: What the Sell-off Looks Like

The daily chart covers 18 months of a clear uptrend. From April 2025 through near $160, AVGO recovered steadily, $300 by May 2025, $400 by late 2025, and a session high near $500 by late May 2026.

Then 4 June: open $408.99, high $426.48, low $403.01, close $418.91 on 80.98 million volume on the Vantage CFD feed, one of the highest-volume sessions on the chart. The earnings reaction was real and heavy.

The $418.91 close landed at a prior structural support zone visible on the chart near $400-420. Buyers appeared near $400 intraday, but the volume pattern does not confirm a clean reversal.

The RSI (14) on the TradingView setup used for this analysis reads 48.08, with the signal line at 59.40. RSI had been above 70 into earnings and dropped sharply on 4 June – now sitting well below the signal line. The speed of that drop reflects the size of the earnings reaction, not a structural downtrend.

What Is Behind the AVGO Stock News

Record Revenue, But Not Enough

Broadcom’s Q2 fiscal year 2026 numbers were strong. Revenue of $22.187 billion was up 48% year-on-year. AI semiconductor revenue hit $10.8 billion, up 143% and above Broadcom’s own forecast.[1] Q3 guidance of $29.4 billion came in above the $28.53 billion consensus.

The market’s reaction focused on one omission: CEO Hock Tan did not raise the fiscal year 2027 AI semiconductor revenue target of $100 billion.[4] AVGO had run 38% year-to-date into earnings, pricing in an upgrade that did not materialise. Flat guidance on a stock at that valuation is effectively a miss. The AVGO share price dropped approximately 15% after hours before recovering to close at $418.91.

Analyst Response: Divergence

Analysts diverged. Macquarie downgraded AVGO from Outperform to Neutral on 4 June, cutting its price target to $437 from $513.[5] Jefferies, DA Davidson, and TD Cowen revised ratings on 4 June with a combined average AVGO price target of $483.33.[6]

Goldman Sachs reiterated Buy and raised its AVGO price target to $525, arguing the selloff reset an overheated chart without breaking the AI thesis.[7] The 46-analyst consensus remains Strong Buy, average 12-month AVGO price target $497.74.[3]

AVGO Price Target and What to Watch

  • Full-year AI guidance, Q3 earnings (September 2026): The market had priced in an upgrade to Broadcom’s fiscal year 2027 AI semiconductor revenue target of $100 billion. Hock Tan reiterated it rather than raised it. Any formal upgrade to that figure would be the clearest near-term catalyst for AVGO share price recovery. The Q3 earnings date is the next opportunity.
  • Q3 AI semiconductor revenue delivery: Broadcom guided Q3 AI semiconductor revenue to grow over 200% year-on-year to $16.0 billion. That guidance represents a significant step-up from Q2’s $10.8 billion. Delivery against that number will determine whether the selloff was a valuation reset or the start of a broader re-rating.
  • Structural support zone near $400: Analysts including Goldman Sachs have flagged the $397 area as a key reference below current levels. A close below the $400 structural support zone on elevated volume would shift the chart picture materially.
  • Broader semiconductor sector tone: AVGO sold off on the same day that MRVL and NVDA extended gains. That divergence could narrow or widen depending on sector-wide sentiment around AI capital expenditure visibility, export controls, and the ongoing Computex follow-through.

Risk Management

AVGO was extended before earnings. The RSI at 48.08 is below the signal line. The $400-420 structural support zone is the key chart reference. Stop Loss levels relative to the 4 June low of $403.01 and the $397 area are the two references traders are using. A close below $397 on elevated volume would change the chart context.

Leverage amplifies exposure in both directions. A 12.59% single-session move on 80.98M volume means the range assumptions for normal trading conditions do not apply in the immediate post-earnings period. Position sizing relative to total account exposure is worth reviewing, particularly for traders holding AVGO alongside other AI semiconductor names such as MRVL and NVDA, where correlation can compress exposure assessments.
